Title:
MANUFACTURE OF FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS592815
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the manufacturing cost through a saving of energy and obtain the titled material uniform in quality through a uniform heating, by a method wherein a woven matrix constituted by a reinforcing fiber which is heated up on energization is energized thereby to integrate the woven matrix and a thermoplastic resin material on heating.

CONSTITUTION: For example, a continuous reinforcing fiber which heats up on energization is employed to form a woven matrix 1 in which fibers are contacted, crossed and confounded by each other, such as a woven, knitted, mat-like fabrics or a sheet-like fabric in which fibers are arranged in one direction. The woven matrix 1 and a thermoplastic resin material 2 are laminated one upon the other. With end parts 3, 3' of the woven matrix 1 employed to serve as electrodes, respectively, a Slidac 4 for regulating a passing current is connected to the electrode 3, and the electrode 3' is connected to a power source 5. Then, under this state, the woven matrix 1 is energized under pressure to heat the resin material 2 above its melting point or softening point, thereby to obtain a desired material in which the woven matrix 1 is impregnated with the resin.
