PURPOSE: To provide a filler, for high performance chromatography, wherein it is new and its characteristic is excellent as compared with conventional fillers.
CONSTITUTION: In the manufacturing method of a filler for highperformance liquid chromatography and in the filler, the fine dispersed liquid of a swelling auxiliary agent is absorbed by particle monodispersed fine particles of a vinyl polymer, they are swollen primarily, the fine dispersed liquid of p-tert-butyl benzoic acid vinyl ester, a cross-linking agent and a diluent is absorbed by them and they are swollen secondarily and then polymerized. In the filler for high performance liquid chromatography, its particles are monodispersive, their diameter is large, the filling state of a column is good and a pressure to be exerted on the column can be reduced to several fractions of that in conventional cases and their filling stability can be improved largely. In addition, it is excellent in the separation of a low-molecular compound and a polymer compound and the selective holding property, the stereoselectivity and the like of an organic halogenide.
