Abstract:
PURPOSE: To use coarse-grained coke as fuel and to reduce the unit requirement of lump coke in a blast furnace by charging a raw pellet incororated with coarse-grained coke as a nucleus to a blast furnace.
CONSTITUTION: Powdery iron ore, flux and coarse-grained coke are mixed to stick the powdery iron ore on the surface of the coarse-grained coke 14, which is pelletized to form a green pellet on which the powdery iron ore is stuck and in which the coarse-grained coke 14 forms a nucleus. Next, the green pellet is coated with coke breeze to form a coke breeze layer 16. Then, the pellet 13 on which the coke breeze layer 16 is formed is charged to an edgeless moving grate-type firing furnace and is fired.
