Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture a forged aluminum wheel high in fatigue strength using a device simple in constitution.

CONSTITUTION: A rotating ball or roller is pressed onto the whole surface area of the wheel disc of an integrally forged aluminum wheel under a pressure of 170 to 230kgf/cm2, the surface of the wheel disc is processed through work hardening by the aforesaid impact energy, and residual compression stress is concurrently imparted thereto.
