Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon-fiber containing phenolic resin molding material which can provide a glass fiber reinforced phenolic resin molded product having a high strength, a high rigidity, especially a high flexural modulus and an excellent dimensional stability.
SOLUTION: 20-40 pts.wt. phenol resin is mixed with predetermined amounts of additives such as a filler, a release agent, a curing agent and a coloring agent in a low-speed rotary agitation mixer such as a kneader, followed by adding 60-80 pts.wt. glass fibers, mixing and kneading to obtain a mixture. The mixture is dried and then granulated in a high-speed rotary agitation mixer while adding a solvent having a low boiling point and dried.
