A ball hitting part and a hosel part of a head 1 are formed separately of different metal materials. A joining end face 31a of a hosel member 31 as well as a joining face 21a of a ball hitting member 21 are abutted and press contacted (PI), then relatively rotated to generate heat by friction for heating the faces 21a, 31a. Successively, after the rotation is stopped, the faces 21a, 31a are further pressed (P2) into a press contacted condition and fusion contact them as one body.
