PURPOSE: To manufacture a headed coupler assembly by working a wire rod into a selected number of headed coupler assemblies and forming a head part at one end of each coupler.

CONSTITUTION: In a first station, a plurality of non-headed couplers obtained by cutting a wire rod into a selected uniform length are mutually arranged in a row at an interval, are locked and are formed into a continuous band-like body 116 of the non-headed couplers 110. Next, in a second work station, a head part is formed at one end of each coupler of the continuous band-like body by a head forming means 26. The resultant body is carried, and the continuous band-like body of the headed coupler 10 is cut selectively to form a selected number of headed coupler assemblies. Thus, the coupling assemblies are manufactured by a continuous method from at least one wire rod.
