Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prescribe the optimum cold rolling rate at the time of manufacturing a high silicon nonoriented steel sheet by using a cast steel strip solidified by the surface of a cooling body which is moved and renewed.

CONSTITUTION: In the process of solidifying the molten steel of a high silicon nonoriented steel sheet contg., by weight, >4.0 to 8.0% Si and ≤2.0% Al with the surface of a cooling body which is moved and renewed and executing pickling, cold rolling and finish annealing, the cold rolling rate is regulated to 5 to <40%. In the case of the relatively low cold rolling rate like the above, the texture of the product sheet after the finish annealing is sharpened by that of columnar crystals. In this way, a texture random cube ({100}<0vw>) ideal for a nonoriented silicon steel sheet can be obtd. in the product sheet, by which the objective high silicon nonoriented steel sheet extremely excellent in magnetic properties can be obtd.
