Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a steel sheet for a can top easy to open with superior suitability to working into the can top by subjecting a steel contg. prescribed percentages of C, Mn and Fe to hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing and cooling under prescribed conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A steel consisting of 0.13W0.4% C, ≤1% Mn and the balance Fe is subjected to hot finish rolling at a temp. in the austenite range. The hot rolled sheet is cooled to ≤650°C at ≥20°C/sec cooling rate, coiled, and cold rolled to ≤0.3mm thickness. The cold rolled sheet is continuously annealed at 730W800°C in the ferrite and austenite two-phase range for 1W40sec, and it is cooled to ≤250°C at 50W1,000°C/sec cooling rate.
