PURPOSE: To obtain a wire rod having a thick oxide superconducting layer of laminated structure showing high critical current density by forming the other oxide superconducting layer on the existing oxide superconducting layer before a base material reaches a winder after the formation of an oxide superconducting layer.
CONSTITUTION: When a long-length base material is fed from a delivery device 19 to a base material supporting device 7 of a film forming device 1, an oxide superconducting layer is formed on the base material in the device 7 and simultaneously the base material is wound on a winding device 20. In this method, before an intermediate layer reaches after an intermediate layer is formed on the base material in the device 7 and that base material is pull out by the prescribed length, the devises 19, 20 are made reversed to return the intermediate layer formed part to the device 19 side. And before the intermediate layer reaches the device 19, the base material is again delivered to the device 20 side to form an oxide superconducting layer on the intermediate layer in the device 7. When this base material moves to the device 20 side by the prescribed length, it is returned before it reaches the device 20, causing an oxide superconducting layer to be formed in the device 7 again. The operation is repeated necessary times, permitting the oxide superconducting layer to be laminated to necessary thickness.
