Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the toughness of the resistance welded part of a resistance welded tube by successively subjecting the resistance welded part to heating to a specified temp., specified working in a temp. range below the recrystallization temp. of austenite and cooling to a specified temp. at a specified cooling rate.

CONSTITUTION: The resistance welded part of a resistance welded tube made of low carbon steel or low carbon low alloy steel is heated to the Ac3 pointW1,050°C, worked at 1W90% rate in a temp. range below the recrystallization temp. of austenite, immediately cooled to 600W800°C at 10W150°C/sec cooling rate and allowed to cool. The toughness of the resistance welded part of the resistance welded tube can be improved.
