Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform smoothing of the outside circumferential surface of a shaft with high accuracy by plastic deforming of a steel pipe through a drawing process and a cold extrusion process. CONSTITUTION:A drawn portion 11a is provided on the right end of a steel drawn hollow pipe 1. After inserting a core bar 1a of a cylindrical shape with three stages of the outside diameter into the pipe 1, the pipe 1 is set in a cold extrusion forming machine composed of a die 3a and a press P of a thick plate as its main component parts. As the drawn portion 11 is clamped with a jig, the pipe 1 and the core bar 2a are extruded from the rear in one unit with the press P. Smoothing of the shaft outside circumferential surface can be processed with high accuracy by this method.
