Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion due to the flux and deterioration of material due to high temperature processing by welding the tappet body and a plunger guide through laser beam. CONSTITUTION:The tappet body 1 and a guide 2 for supporting a plunger 6 slidably are formed independently through plastic machining then cementation of nitriding is performed thereafter the guide 2 is pressure inserted into the tappet body 1 to perform temporal welding by irradiating a laser beam with high speed onto the entire circumference of welding section then final welding is performed by irradiating a laser beam with low speed. Consequently, application and cleaning of flux can be saved to prevent corrosion due to insufficient cleaning while high temperature processing is not required to cause no deterioration of material. Furthermore, temporal welding will eliminate influence of solidifying/shrinking stress at the welding section resulting in improvement of dimensional accuracy.
