To provide an industrially advantageous manufacturing method of a hydrocarbon oil from a carbon contg. org. compd.
I) A mixed gas at not lower than 600°C and contg. unreacted carbon contg. org. compd. is obtd. by partially oxidizing a carbon contg. org. compd., II) carbon dioxide and/or steam are reacted with the unreacted carbon contg. org. compd. in the high temp. mixed gas in the presence of a catalyst and under pressure to form a synthetic gas, III) a catalyst used in II) is a metal catalyst supported on a metal oxide carrier, having a specific surface area of net greater than 25 m2/g, electronegativity of the metal ion in the carrier metal oxide of not higher than 13.0, and supported catalyst metal content of 0.0005-0.1 mol.% as metal to the carrier metal oxide, IV) a reaction product contg. hydrocarbon oil is produced by reacting the synthesis gas in the presence of Fischer-Tropsch catalyst, and V) the hydrocarbon oil is separated.
