PURPOSE: To obtain an impeller for a compressor excellent in strength without anxiety about fatigue failure, brittle fracture, etc., by performing welding of members with a narrow gap of a structure requiring narrow gap space with high accuracy in the method to assemble and manufacture the impeller for the compressor by welding.
CONSTITUTION: An upper plate 1 of the impeller for the compressor is first superposed on a lower plate 2 with a rib 3, then, a superposed part of the upper plate 1 and the rib 3 is subjected to electron beam welding or carbon- dioxide laser beam welding from the upper plate side, penetration welding is performed up to the rib part 3 by passing through thickness of the upper plate 1 and both ends of the superposed part and the vicinities thereof are subjected to fillet welding 4 by using a small-sized MIG or TIG torch to enter the gap part from the narrow gap part. Consequently, satisfactory assembly welding excellent in strength and accuracy can be performed.
