Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for manufacturing an inclination adjustable headrest easily and rationally wherein mounting of a seal material on an opening for rotating a stay of a hollow body made of synthetic resin is unnecessary when a foamed body is to be formed at the periphery of the synthetic resin hollow body in an insert.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided a process for forming an insert 15 housing an inclination adjustable device 12 by surrounding the device provided at an upper part of a stay 10 with a hollow body 14 made of synthetic resin by blow molding. An inclination adjustable headrest is manufactured by two processes: a process for forming an insert containing foamed body wherein the synthetic resin hollow body 14 in the insert 15 is set in a cavity 24 of a foaming mold, a raw material G of the foamed body is injected into the cavity 24 and foamed so as to cover the periphery of the synthetic resin hollow body 14 with the foamed body, and a process for forming an opening for rotating the stay by cutting off a part of the synthetic resin hollow body at the periphery of the stay of the insert containing foamed body.
