PURPOSE: To provide a manufacturing method for an inorganic building board provided with the performance almost equivalent to that of a gypsum board, lighter than the gypsum board in weight and provided with the desired dimension accuracy and can be manufactured by a small manufacturing device.
CONSTITUTION: A wet inorganic board 2 forming a lower layer section is formed by slurry composed of mineral fiber, inorganic powder and a binder as essential components. Then, a mixture layer 3 is formed by spraying and accumulating a mixture for an intermediate layer composed of an inorganic foamed body, a fiber-like material and a binder as essential components on the wet inorganic board 2 in even thickness. Next, a laminate 6 is formed by laminating wet inorganic boards 5 forming an upper layer section formed by slurry composed of mineral fiber, inorganic powder and a binder as essential components on the mixture layer 3. The laminate 6 is heated and clamped by a continuous belt press 7, and the binder in the mixture layer 3 is activated by vapor generated from the upper and lower layer sections 2 and 5 to manufacture an inorganic building board 8 formed by bonding integrally an intermediate layer section 3 composed of a mixture layer with the upper and lower layer sections 2 and 5.
