PURPOSE: To obtain an integrally skinned foam-molded article having no development of wrinkle or the like on the surface of the molded article by a method wherein skin is safely and efficiently brought into perfectly close contact with the inner surface of a mold.
CONSTITUTION: Skin 6 is arranged along the inner surface 18 of the cavity in the lower mold 1a of a mold 1. In addition, the part, which is projected beyond the opening part 8 of the lower mold 1a, of the skin 6 is pressed against the surface of the lower mold 1a with a large number of press plates 9 arranged annularly so as to surround the opening part 8. Under the above-mentioned condition, air is sucked through suction holes 4 arranged on the inner surface 18 of the cavity so as to bring the skin 6 into close contact with the inner surface 18 of the cavity. As for the part, at which the close contact is insufficient, of the skin, the pressing force of the press plate 9, which relates to the insufficiently contacting part, is released temporarily so as to control the tension of the Skin 6 in order to bring the skin 6 into perfect close contact with the whole inner surface 18 of the cavity. After that, the mold 1 is closed by the upper mold of the mold 1 and then foamable resin stock liquid is poured in the cavity and expanded and solidified so as to integrally mold the skin 6 and foaming resin.
