PURPOSE: To certainly place a lead alloy thin film in the prescribed position on a lead alloy continuous cast body, by forming a groove, which is wider and deeper in comparison with the width and the thickness of the thin film, on one surface of the lead alloy continuous cast body, for inserting the lead alloy thin film into this groove and integrating them in one body through rolling.
CONSTITUTION: A groove which is wider and deeper in comparison with the width and the thickness of a lead alloy thin film 3, is formed on a lead alloy continuous cast body 2. The thin film 3 is inserted into this groove, and a lead alloy sheet 5 is formed by rolling the thin film 3 and the continuous cast body 2 in one integrated body by means of a rolling machine 4 equipped with multistage rollers. In this way, meandering of the thin film 3 on the continuous cast body 2 can be prevented because the groove functions as a guide. Consequently, dispersion of characteristics of a battery, in which a grating manufactured by expand-processing of the lead alloy sheet 5 is used, can be prevented and a lead-acid battery having high reliability can be manufactured.
