Title:
MANUFACTURE OF LENGTHY COMPOSITE WIDE JOINED PLATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3487531
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a building material and a furniture material which have straight grain or grain on the surface and are free from disorder such as warp and cracks by effectively using low quality wood such as thinnings and bent lumber.
SOLUTION: Short-sized plate veneers sawed in a prescribed width are jointed longitudinally, the joint phase is shifted in the fiber direction, and a prescribed number of veneers are laminated to make a lengthy laminated square. The square is sawed longitudinally and processed into the same thickness as that of the veneer to make a square straight grain plate. Next, the plate is cut crosswise into several plates, the cut plates are joined laterally, arranging the fiber direction to be parallel to the longitudinal direction, to produce straight grain parallel veneers 9 of a prescribed length, a width joined plate 12 of the same thickness as that of the veneer is made from block lumber in which several squares of a prescribed length are joined crosswise, and the plate 12 is laminated at least on one side of the straight grain parallel veneer 9 with the fiber direction made to go straight to produce a lengthy wide joined plate 13.
