PURPOSE: To manufacture a ligneous composite having the natural grain of wood, by a method wherein curing reaction is performed after impregnation of a ligneous material with a liquid composition consisting essentially of a drying oil fatty acid esters, polymerizable monomers and polymerizing catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: A treatment liquid is prepared by performing mixing and dissolving a 20-50 pts.wt. polymerizable monomer and 0.5-5 pts.wt. polymerizing catalyst to 80-50 pts.wt. drying oil fatty acid ester. Then after a ligneous material such as a lumber veneer or pillarlike lumber is immersed into the treatment liquid and the ligneous material is impregnated with the treatment liquid by using an operation such as decompression or pressurization together with the impregnation, the ligneous material is cured through pressurizing and heating and a ligneous composite is manufactured. An aromatic compound such as styrene or vinyltoluene and a peroxide such as benzoyl peroxide or t-butyl peroxide are available respectively as embodiments of the polymerizable monomers and polymerizing catalyst.
