To adapt polyester fiber to a wide range of applications by including a process for wiping a surface by a material constituted of polyester fiber, heat-setting the material by a specific range of temperature, and avoiding a situation in which the fiber is heated beyond a specific temperature.
The manufacture comprises a process for forming a material knitted or woven from polyester yarns, a process for heat-setting the material at the temperature of 180°F to 300°F, and a process for cutting the material to form a desired article. The polyester fibers are not heated beyond the temperature of 300°F. If polyester fibers are heated beyond the temperature of 300°F, low molecular weight polymer or oligomer is formed on the surface of the polyester fibers and is crystallized to small particles. A wiper corresponding to substantially all specifications employed in a clean room and a wiper substantially making the discharge of particles of a clean wiper decrease can be obtained.
