PURPOSE: To provide a method for manufacturing a luminaire that transmits illuminating light and provides a new kind of beauty by stripping the bark from a wild cherry tree, drying it in the shade, shaving it from the front and back to obtain a thin sheet of bark, and bonding the sheet with a transparent or semitransparent thin synthetic-resin panel or glass panel, etc., into the luminaire.
CONSTITUTION: Bark is stripped from a wild cherry tree, dried, and polished from the front and back in a ratio of 6:4 to obtain a thin sheet of bark 1, which is then heated and bonded under pressure via an adhesive to a transparent or semitransparent plate, such as a synthetic-resin plate or a glass pane; then the sheet of bark is mended for slits, holes, etc., and undercoated with urethane. Thereafter, this stack is formed into a luminaire shape, bonded along a frame, and finish painted with urethane.
