Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing a magnetic head capable of remarkably improving the tapered surface forming efficiency more than in the past.

CONSTITUTION: A grinding device having a rotary grinding wheel 9 and a support device 11 is used. A jig 12 having a slider member 13 mounted thereon is mounted on the support device 11 so that the medium opposite surface 131 of the slider member 13 has an angle θ to the rotating flat surface 91 of the rotary grinding wheel 9. The rotary grinding wheel 9 or the support device 11 is relatively moved, and the medium opposite surface 131 of the slider member 13 is brought into contact with the rotating flat surface 91 of the rotary grinding wheel 9 followed by grinding to provide a tapered surface according to the angle e.
