Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the manufacturing method of a magnetic memory medium whose wear-resistant property is excellent even after it has been exposed to both a normal state and a high-humidity condition.
CONSTITUTION: By using an ionization plasma decomposition polymerization reaction apparatus, a hydrocarbon-based protective film is formed on the surface of a ferromagnetic metal thin film formed on the base body of a magnetic disk 1 by means the ionization plasma decomposition polymerization reaction of a gas containing hydrocarbon in such a way that the ratio of 50/50 to 98/2 in terms of atomic ratio.
