Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, inexpensively, and efficiently manufacture a sodium-sulfur battery with high reliability.
SOLUTION: In a sodium-sulfur battery having a negative container joined with an insulating ring through an insert material and a positive container, a workpiece 9 constituted with the negative container joined with the insulating ring through the insert material and the positive container are joined in a closed joining chamber 14 by raising the joining temperature. The workpiece 9 joined is sent to a cooling chamber 18 having a temperature lower than that in the joining chamber 14 and compulsorily cooled to the solidus line temperature or lower of the insert material.
