Title:
MANUFACTURE OF METAL-CERAMICS COMPOSITE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10158762
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve the problem of the mass production of a metal-ceramics composite of complicated shape so far considered to be difficult by a penetration method.

The metal-ceramics composite is manufactured by forming a perform by the use of ceramic fibers or grains as a reinforcement and penetrating a metal into the perform. At this time, the perform is prepared by adding, as a binder, colloidal silica solution, colloidal solution of alumina hydrate, or superfine SiC powder or Al2O3 powder to an SiC or Al2O3 powder of 1-100μm average grain size, further adding a binder for injection molding to the above, applying injection molding to the resultant mixture, removing the binder from the resultant molded body, and then performing burning. Subsequently, an alloy composed essentially of aluminum is allowed to penetrate into the perform at 700-1000°C.
