PURPOSE: To improve the adhesiveness of multi-cellular material and to enlarge its length by annealing expanded metal and a metallic fiber layer and then arranging the metallic fiber layer on the expanded metal, compressing and heattreating them.
CONSTITUTION: After an expanded metal 1 and a metallic fiber non-woven cloth 2 are respectively annealed, the metallic fiber layer 2 is arranged on the expanded metal 1 and they undergo compression and pressure-welding. The expanded metal 1 is made up of high-melting metal such as stainless steel series, etc., and the twisted parts 3 generate a nice entanglement with the metallic fiber layer 2. Therefore, formed metallic multi-cellular material is improved in adhesiveness. Further, if necessary, after the expanded metal 1 and the metallic fiber layer 2 undergo compression and pressure-welding, they are heated and sintered according to the material of the metal 1 to further improve the adhesiveness of the metallic multi-cellular material. Metallic-cellular material is enlarged in length because a long-size material can be easily obtained.
