PURPOSE: To make attachment to a rubber roller easy and improve printing quality by forming a flexible urethane synthetic resin layer which is obtained by mixing at least one kind of oxide ceramic on an unvulcanized NBR roller and then vulcanizing the surfacial layer.
CONSTITUTION: First, the surface of cast iron core 1 is degreased and purified and then NBR adhesive is wound around the core under tension while being rotated. Next, this laminate 3 is heated at 100°C for 1hr and partially vulcanized. Then its surface is smoothly polished and is coated a few times with urethane synthetic resin 4 containing ceramics. This roller is vulcanized at 120°C for 2hr and then is surface-polished. Thus a tightly fitting and highly flexible roller is available and is easily used for a soft rubber roller like watering roller also. In addition, the roller thus obtained is tightly fitting, highly abrasion-resistant and durable because of the strong bonding of green NBR and urethane synthetic resin. Further, an applied ink quantity is economized and printing quality is improved.
