Title:
MANUFACTURE OF MULTICORE SUPERCONDUCTIVE WIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61272354
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the manufacture of a multicore superconductive wire by alternately arranging stocks the surfaces of which are made of a stabilized material and stocks of a superconductive material not coated with a stabilized material, inserting the resulting assembly into a pipe of a stabilized material, and rolling down them.

CONSTITUTION: Stocks at least the surfaces of which are made of a stabilized material such as Cu bars 2 and stocks of a superconductive material not coated with a stabilized material such as Nb-Ti alloy bars 3 are alternately arranged around a core rod 1 of Cu as a stabilized material. The resulting assembly is inserted into a Cu pipe 4 to form a composite body, and this composite body is rolled down by extrusion and drawing to manufacture a multicore superconductive wire of a prescribed size. Since stages required to manufacture stocks are eliminated or simplified, the time required to manufacture the superconductive wire is shortened.
