PURPOSE: To provide a multilayer ceramic superconductor of high superconductive characteristic and of little dispersion.
CONSTITUTION: A multilayer ceramic superconductor is manufactured by drawing and heat treating a multilayer complex billet, for which raw materials are compounded in a metal layer in the form of layers. At least the metal matrix layer in the proximity of a raw material layer 1 in the multilayer complex billet is formed out of an Ag alloy material 3 of high strength, while the outer periphery is formed out of an Ag material 1. Since the raw material layer 1 is reinforced by the Ag alloy material 3, the raw material layer 1 to which sufficient compression force is added at the time of the drawing, is improved in the crystal orientation, and ununiform deformation does not occur, which is caused by insufficient compression at the time of the drawing work or the gas generated at the time of the heat treatment, and the multilayer ceramic superconductor thus provided is of little dispersion and of high superconductive characteristic. Since the outer periphery of the complex billet is formed out of the Ag material 2, the surface is made in the excellent condition of non-oxidation.
