PURPOSE: To obtain a multilayer recording medium in which an intermediate layer is formed simply, in which an irregularity in a thickness can be suppressed and which can be manufactured in a short time and with high accuracy.
CONSTITUTION: In a filmlike photopolymer 13' which is interposed between a semitransparent reflecting film 12 and a master disk 21, both faces are compression-bonded to the semitransparent film 12 on a disk substrate 11 and to the master disk 21 by means of compression-bonding rollers 23a, 23b. The filmlike photopolymer 13' both faces of which are compression-bonded by the rotation of the compression-bonding rollers 23a, 23b is hardened by irradiation with ultraviolet rays from a UV lamp 24 in a state that it is interposed between the semitransparent film 12 on the disk substrate 11 and the master disk 21, and it is used as an intermediate layer 13. After the intermediate layer 13 has been formed, the master disk 21 is stripped. A second information signal layer 13a is transferred to the intermediate layer 13 from which the master disk 21 has been stripped.
