Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the production of the shank of a transfer needle for knitting machines, the shank having in each case a head and foot portion and a transfer portion in between having in each case at least one fixing and accommodation groove for a transfer spring. The invention consists in that the shank is produced by combined and/or successive stamping and embossing steps as follows: a strip 36 of material determined by the material of the needle is first of all provided with the required stamped and embossed features (37, 39 to 44) and, in a final shaping step which determines its final shape (45), the shank is then punched out of the strip (36) of material. The invention furthermore comprises a transfer needle produced by this method (Fig. 8).
