Abstract:
PURPOSE:To closely fit the chucking wall of a can lid and the upper end part of a can shell and to complete the enclosure of a leaking route by executing seaming by receiving the seaming load by a seaming roll at can seaming time by the inner side engaging part of a seaming chuck. CONSTITUTION:A can shell 2 is set on a seaming turret in the state of a can lid 1 being subjected to centering. According to the rotation of the turret, a 1st seaming roll 15 presses a seaming part from the side part to execute a 1st seaming. The seaming load of the seaming roll at this time is received at the place where the panel rise circumferential part 5 at the opposite side of the can lid 1 gets in touch with the inner peripheral wall 12 of the inner side engagement part of a seaming chuck 10. The can shell 2 is pressed by the flange 16 of the 1st seaming roll 15 simultaneously with the seaming and necking is performed. Simultaneously with performing a 2nd seaming similarly by a 2nd seaming roll 17, necking is executed by pressing in succession the can shell part by the flange part 18 of the 2nd seaming roll 17 and the necking part is subjected to shape finishing.
