Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture O-rings that can display excellent sealing performance even under high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Notches 3 are formed in a strand made of elastomer having not been vulcanized in a vertically longitudinal direction, and the strand is cut into pieces 4 of specified length. In the next step, when the pieces 4 are arranged in a mold 10, vulcanized and compressed after arranging many coils made of filament-like reinforcing material in ring-like channels formed by notches 3, the notches 3 are pushed and closed and joint end faces 6, forming an O-ring.
