PURPOSE: To obtain a manufacturing method which facilitates small quantity and many types production or mass production with a relatively simple process by a method wherein minute protrusions are formed on an original disk composed of an elastomer layer and a polymer holding layer and the surface of the disk is made to be conductive to form a stamper.
CONSTITUTION: An original disk is composed of a glass substrate 11, an elastomer layer 12 which is formed on the substrate 11 and contains photosensitive pigment and a polymer holding layer 13 which is formed on the elastomer layer 12 and has a glass transition temperature. A long wavelength laser beam La which is absorbed only by the layer 12 having stretching properties is applied to create the spot-shaped partial thermal expansion of the layer 12 and a row of minute protrusions Pr are formed on the layer 13. Then a silver conductive film 3 is formed on the layer 13 by sputtering of silver to obtain a mastering original disk and, successively, the obtained master original disk is dipped into a nickel electrocasting bath to form a nickel stamper on the silver conductive film and the stamper is separated from a die-polymer original disk. With this constitution, a manufacturing process can be simplified while the accurate transcription of an information recording plane is achieved and a manufacturing method which is suitable for small quantity and many types production and mass production of video audio software can be obtained.
