Abstract:
PURPOSE:To manufacture the optical module which has high positioning precision about a ferrule by arraying an optical connector in metallic molds based on the basis of the internal diameter of the optical connector. CONSTITUTION:This manufacture of optical module includes a process wherein a lead frame on which an electronic circuit is formed, the optical connector which has an optical operating element connected to the electronic circuit and is equipped with a ferrule insertion hole, a connector array member 8 equipped with a pin 8b to be inserted into the ferrule insertion hole, and the metallic molds 7 and 8 in which the lead frame, optical connector, and connector array member 8 are fixed are prepared, a process wherein the lead frame, optical connector, and connector array member 8 are fixed while the pin 8b is inserted into the ferrule insertion hole, and a process wherein a resin material is injected into the metallic molds 7 and 8 wherein the lead frame, optical connector, and connector array member 8 are fixed to hold the lead frame and optical connector integrally.
