PURPOSE: To manufacture an outer frame of a rotating electric machine, whose stator can be cooled efficiently, at low cost.
CONSTITUTION: This is the outer frame 23 of a rotating electric machine which is bent in tubular shape out of a steel plate 21 and has, at the periphery, a plurality of bead parts 24, which form gaps for cooling a stator 27 between itself and the iron core 28 of the stator by swelling out from outward to inward, being molded by press processing. The subsequent machine processing of a step 30 can be facilitated or it can be obviated by reforming the openings at both ends in axial direction into the shape of a right circle by the spinning processing of the spinning rollers 25 and 26 after the press processing of bead parts 24 besides being after the bending of its tube.
