Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of cracks or deterioration in compacted powdery matter inside by bending a metal tape or alloy coating to be deformed, combining protruded end parts to form a cylindrical body, oxide superconductive material is filled in the cylindrical body to be compacted and moulded, and eliminating the cylindrical body mechanically.

CONSTITUTION: A metal tape or alloy coating is bend to be deformed about its length, and end parts 4, 5 are attached by attaching material of a lower fusing point than the fusing point of the coating material to obtain a cylindrical body 3. After oxide superconductive material 1 is filled in the cylindrical body 3, the superconductive material 1 is compacted and moulded. The attached parts of the cylindrical body 3 is then heated and fused, so the cylindrical body 3 is separated and removed, and the oxide superconductive material 1 is heat processed to be sintered. The cylindrical body 3 can thus be eliminated without cutting the cylindrical body 3 or dissolving the cylindrical body 3. Occurrence of cracks or deterioration in the superconductive oxide 1 inside is thus eliminated.
