PURPOSE: To reduce manhour and to improve safety in work operation by leaving parts as they are connected with bridges so as to be able to take out the parts outside a die and cutting off the bridge parts in the final stage.

CONSTITUTION: When ring-like parts are made, first, an unworked base material 16 is fed on a lower die 5. Next, an inside circular part 62 is blanked using a compound punch and compound dies 43, 55, 56 and circular-arc-shaped blanking grooves 63 which are a concentric circle and intermitted at four places are formed outside the circular part 62. Thus, the ring-like parts are connected with the four bridges to the base material. The forming of the grooves 63 is performed with a punch whose cutting edge on the press face is removed at four places. Next, above a preloading cradle 59, the ring-like parts which are connected with the bridges are pressed with a cut-off punch 45 and a cut-off die 58 and the ring-like parts are cut down from the base material on the preloading cradle 59.
