Title:
MANUFACTURE OF PERMANENT MAGNET ALLOY POWDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63169004
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To inexpensively manufacture a permanent magnet alloy powder without necessity of the step of dissolving and roughly pulverizing R-Fe-B permanent magnet alloy powder by adding at least one type of CaCl2, NaCl and KCl as flux thereto.

CONSTITUTION: At least one type of metal Ca and CaH2 is used as reducing agent for R2O3 powder (where R is at least one type of Nd and Dy), Fe powder, B powder and Fe-B alloy powder. Further, at least one type of CaCl2, NaCl and KCl is added thereto as flux. These materials are reduced and diffused at 900W1,250°C under the conditions of an inert gas atmosphere, a reducing gas atmosphere or substantially vacuum, and obtained reactive product is introduced into water to remove a byproduct. Thus, rare earth element-iron-boron permanent magnet alloy powder which contains 25.0W50.0wt.% R, 0.3W5.0wt.% B and the residue of Fe can be obtained.
