Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric film which has uniform orientation and is free from variation of piezoelectric properties by a method wherein a sheet or a film is rolled by a rolling mill and given molecular orientation. CONSTITUTION:A sheet or film of synthetic polymer such as polyvinylidene fluoride which shows piezoelectric properties is rolled by a rolling mill with a reduction factor of more than 50 % and a poling treatment is applied to the rolled film. As the synthetic polymer which shows the piezoelectric properties, polyvinylidene fluoride or blended polymer of ployvinylidene fluoride and methacrylate system resin or vinyl acetate system resin may be employed. The blended polymer must contain polyvinylidene fluoride with a composition ratio of not less than 50 wt% and must be free from phase separation.
