PURPOSE: To manufacture the pipe expander which is superior in the sealablity against the pressure fluid, and is able to give the desired expansion to the pipe, by mold forming the first elastic body and the second elastic body into two layers, in the outer surface of the holding metal provided with the radial leading path for the pressure fluid, while preventing the penetration of the molding material into the leading path.
CONSTITUTION: The half type forming mold 8 is installed at the outer surface of the hollow portion of the holding metal 1, and the adheive 9 is applied on the outer surface of the metal 1 within the mold 8. After that, the radial leading path 3 for the pressure fluid is sealed with the rubber made coating material 10; and the molding material (gum) is pourd into the mold 8; hereby, the first elastic body 4 of cylindrical shape is mold formed. Then, the mold 8 is removed, and a leading port 5 communicating to the leading path 3 is opened in the elastic body 4; the parting agent 6 is applied on the outer surface of the elastic body 4, and the adhesive 11 is applied to both end faces, and besides, the leading port 5 is sealed with the water soluble coating materil 12. Next, on the outer surface of the metal 1, the cylindrical second elastic body 7 is mold formed according to the similar method to the elastic body 4; hereby, the aimed pipe expander is manufactured.
