Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ballpoint pen for small letters which can stably hold a ball for a long period and smoothly write irrespective of adopting an extremely small ball in a method for manufacturing a pipe type ballpoint pen tip utilizing plastic deformation.
SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a pipe type ballpoint pen tip comprises the three steps utilizing plastic deformation of forming an edge part, forming a ball receiving seat and caulking it. The outer diameter A of the adopted ball 6 is smaller than 0.5mm. In the step of forming the edge, the edge 3 having an angle α of 25 to 45 degrees is formed. The bending angle β of the edge 3 in the caulking step is set to 15 to 25 degrees. Further, the ball exposure amount L is set to 25 to 35% of the outer diameter A of the ball.
