Title:
MANUFACTURE OF PISTON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6248425
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a reliable looseness-free piston to be produced by welding connectively the end faces of both blanks to each other after drilling said blanks and grinding them to have intermediate flange walls.

CONSTITUTION: After holes 12 are drilled in blanks 10a, 10b from the end face 11 sides respectively, both blanks 10a, 10b are made contact with each other on the end faces 11, frictionally pressed and welded in the connection 13 to provide a piston blank. In such frictional press are produced press burrs. Two intermediate flange walls 18 are formed between both outside flange walls 17 by grinding the piston blank. The intermediate flange walls 18 are formed with holes 12 respectively and the press burrs are removed from the connection 13 of both blanks 10a, 10b by grinding so that a piston is produced.
