PURPOSE: To provide a partition wall for a plasma display panel having satisfactory strength for practical use by applying and baking glass paste on the upper surface of the partition wall in the middle or final stage of a thick film forming process.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive film 2 is formed on a substrate 1, to be patterned by photo lithography. Grooves 3 formed between the films 2 are filled with partition wall paste 4 including alumina and glass powder having a low melting point, followed by drying. The films 2 are removed by an alkaline separating liquid. Paste 6 containing not alumina but glass having a low melting point is printed on the paste 4, followed by drying and baking, thus completing a partition wall. A glass component is impregnated into the partition wall during baking, thereby obtaining the partition wall having sufficient strength and an adequate aspect ratio owing to vertical side walls thereof. Particularly, satisfactory strength can be realized on the upper surface of the partition wall in contact with the substrate on an opposite side, thus improving a manufacturing yield.
