PURPOSE: To obtain a plate glass being stable against a humidity and a chemical attack, by providing coating layers consisting of a prescribed material with a prescribed thickness on a transparent substrate through the use of a cathode sputtering so as to provide first to fifth layers.
CONSTITUTION: The plate glass pane is obtained by forming the first layer 1 with 20-60 nm thickness, the second layer 2 with 5-30 nm thickness on it, the third layer 3 with 0.2-5 nm thickness on the second one, the fourth layer 4 with 0.5-5 nm thickness on the third one and, at least, the fifth layer 5 consisting of a material corresponding to the first layer 1 on the transparent substrate S by using the cathode sputtering. The first layer 1 and the fifth layer are formed out of an oxide selected from the group consisting of ZmO, SnO2, In2O3, TiO2, ZrO2, Ta2O5, SiO2 or Al2O3, and out of AlN and/or Si3N4 or the oxynitride of Al, Ti, Zr or Si. The second layer 2 consists of Ag and/or Cu and the third layer 3 consists of Pd and/or Pt. Moreover, the fourth layer 4 consists of Ti and/or Cr or an alloy containing them.
