Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plywood by which it is possible to sufficiently reduce a formaldehyde emission level from the plywood without lowering the productivity of the plywood and also without in creasing a manufacturing cost significantly.
SOLUTION: An aqueous formaldehyde scavenger solution is applied to the surface of a plywood in such a state that the solution is heated at 30-60°C right after a hot press step. In this case, the aqueous formaldehyde scavenger solution is preferably applied to the surface of the plywood within three minutes following the completion of the hot press step. In addition, the aqueous formaldehyde scavenger solution to be used is, for example, an aqueous solution containing a chemical compound of at least, one or more selected from urea, thiourea and ammonium chloride.
