Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method for xylitol and erythritol from an arabinoxylan-including material.

In this method, xylose and arabinose are separated from hydrolyzate obtained by hydrolyzing a arabinoxylan-including material, the xylose is reduced to xylitol and the xylitol is collected, and erythronic acid is obtained by carrying out an alkaline oxidation on the arabinose, the erythronic acid is reduced to erythritol and the erythritol is collected.
