Title:
MANUFACTURE OF POROUS ADSORBENT FOR RECOVERY OF URANIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5778943
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an uranium adsorbent having a large specific surface area and a large pore diameter by a method in which a titanium compound and a metal compound are mixed and then coprecipitated in such a way that hydrated oxides other than titanium are dissolved.

CONSTITUTION: A titanium compound and a metal compound except for Ti are mixed with water, and the mixture is mixed with an alkali or urea ro coprecipitate them in the form of hydrated oxides. Then, the oxides are taken out and mixed with an acid or an alkali to dissolve hydrated oxides except for Ti. Thus, porous hydrated titanium oxide having a large specific surface area and a large pore diameter and also suitable as an adsorbent for uranium can be obtained.
